Our new retail location

There’s a nice piece in a local paper about our new retail location right in downtown Winslow on Bainbridge Island.    My Kids’ Cookies Takes the Retail Plunge.

We also are smiling over the fun art work on our walls.  Nationally known local artist Sally Prangley has bedecked our walls with her whimsical mirrors and clocks.  You can visit our shop and head home with treats for your belly and your walls.

Sweet 16 Birthday – Where does the time go?

Sixteen years ago today I was 9 days past my due date and just waiting and waiting and…  Today, I’m planning a Sweet 16 birthday party for my daughter this Friday.  Co-ed which scares the heck out of me.  I have to reach back into my own long ago memories and remind myself what it was like to be a teen.

As the “Sunrise, Sunset” song plays in my head, I look at the moments firmly imprinted on my mind of those every day, ordinary things that somehow stood out.  And I revisit that day, that moment, that tear, that smile, and wonder how time could pass so quickly.

I’m blessed to have a smart, truly beautiful daughter who is a well balanced, confident, typical teenager.  As much as I sometimes wonder if I was/am a good mom, by all accounts when I look at her I have my answer.

So, go hug your children today, whatever age, because they make life wonderful, don’t they?

I smile every time there is a baking party here at My Kids’ Cookies Shop.  The kids are always so happy to be allowed to bake in a professional kitchen.  Everyone gets a spoon to taste the dough before it gets scooped onto big baking sheets.  Everyone gets to be creative with how big or small they want their cookies to be.  Everyone goes home with a box filled with the cookies they’ve baked.  Everyone leaves happy.
